Manchester City’s Manuel Pellegrini has announced that taking up a coaching job in the American League, the MLS is a possibility that is not so far away from turning into reality as the Chilean manager said that the Major League Soccer is growing rapidly and anything can happen in the future.
Pellegrini has already coached clubs in Chile, Ecuador, Argentina, Spain and England. Even though he’s been in charge of numerous clubs from around the globe, Pellegrini is willing to extend his managerial career even further and make a move to the MLS which has experienced an increase in high profile players.
More and more aging but world class players are choosing to spend the last few years of their respective careers in MLS and Manuel Pellegrini has also thought about it from a managerial point of view.
The Chilean manager Manuel Pellegrini told the media: “You don’t know what will happen in the future. It’s a league that is improving, that is growing every year. We have now an important link with New York City, you never know what happens.”
For the past few days, Manuel Pellegrini and his players have been making a pre-season tour in United States and have already played a friendly match against an American club, Toronto FC which concluded in a 1-0 triumph for Manchester City.
Manuel Pellegrini has one more season left in his contract with the Premier League club Manchester City but after failing to win any silverware in this recently concluded season, he was rumored on being sacked due to the disappointing campaign but despite the underwhelming season, Pellegrini at the moment is safe from being sacked as his job is safe after Pep Guardiola decided to continue being in charge of Bayern Munich.
Pep Guardiola is one of the targets of the head chiefs of Manchester City but the Spanish manager rejected the offers that were launched at him as he wants to maintain his coaching position in Bayern Munich for a at least one more season.
